Durak Math: Calculating Probabilities

"Why math in Durak? It's a simple game!" That's what beginners think. Experienced players know: understanding probabilities separates amateurs from pros.

Law of large numbers

In one game you might be lucky or unlucky with cards. But over a hundred games statistics even out. That's why pros don't rely on luck — they play by math.

Counting trumps

There are 9 trumps total in the deck. You see your 6 cards and 1 trump under the deck — that's 7 cards. So in unknown cards there are maximum 8 trumps (if you have none). Each time someone plays or beats with a trump, subtract it from remaining.

Practical tip

You don't need to be a math genius. Just keep three numbers in mind: how many trumps remain, how many cards in the deck, how many cards opponents have. This alone will raise your game significantly.
